  • Inside the body - invasive
  • On the body surface - noninvasive
Purpose of biomedical signal processing

  • To improve signal quality.
  • To improve measurement accuracy.
  • To reduce the amount of data.
  • To visualize complex events.
  • To make therapeutic devices, such as pacemakersand hearing aids, more intelligent.
